Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is Asobo Studio's action-adventure prequel starring Sophia, set 15 years before Requiem on the Minotaur's island. If you played Requiem, you already know her. Sophia is the smuggler who became Amicia and Hugo's protector and ally — capable, sardonic, and clearly carrying a history the game never explained. Resonance is that history.
You take control of Theseus, a warrior from the Bronze Age Minoan civilisation that once occupied the island, thousands of years before Sophia's medieval present. The game moves back and forth between the two eras, and what happens in the Minoan past shapes what Sophia finds and faces in the present.
Both characters are bound to the same thing: the Macula, the supernatural rot at the heart of Hugo's curse in the earlier games. Resonance is where the series finally digs into where that curse came from, rather than just what it does to the people carrying it. It's the closest A Plague Tale has come to an origin myth for its own central story.
